Good Morning Everyone!
Happy Thursday to you.
I hope everyone is staying cool in this summer heat.
Last night, at my request, Walt Cromwell will be
presenting next week. Instead, we had a
Question and Answer session last night. I
encouraged the Youth to ask questions about Christianity. After some prompting, we had some good
questions pop up. Some of the questions asked
were:
-
“Do animals go to Heaven?”
-
“Will I know people in Heaven that I didn’t know
on Earth?”
-
“Will I be able to see Earth from Heaven?”
-
“Will we see other people being judged on Judgment
Day?”
-
“Will I feel pain in heaven?”
These were all good questions, and I encourage the Youth
group to continue to ask questions. I
open the floor to questions every week, so bring any and all questions to Youth
Group. I make no promises that I will
know the answer, but I will do everything I can to research your question and
give you a biblically based answer.
(Oh, and for those of you that are interested in the
answers to the questions above, you’ll have to come to Youth group to find out
how the conversation went.)
Youth Group Party this coming Saturday! It’s from 4:00-8:00pm in the Berlin Park in
Berlin, NJ. Details are on the “Weekly Schedule
and Events” page.
I am still looking for Community Service Ideas. I forgot to ask the youth Group for
suggestions and ideas last night, so that was an over-sight on my part. (It seems like there is never enough time to
get to every topic every Wednesday.) When
we plan our first Community Service project, I will post details on the blog.
I ask for prayers of healing for one of our church family’s
grandfather. He is in the hospital now. He had to get his hip replaced, and now he is
in rehab and healing. We pray that he
heals quickly, and is able to go back to his normal routine soon.
I ask for prayers of comfort as one of our church family’s
great-grandfather recently passed away.
We can all take comfort in knowing we worship a loving and merciful God,
but there is pain and loss in this life.
We ask that God’s mighty hand be over the family in their time of
loss.
I ask for prayers for one of our church family’s niece. She is about to move waaaaaaaaaay out west,
and she will be away from her extended family.
We pray that God will be with her on her journey, and that she finds a
good, holy, church family in her new home.
We also pray that the family staying here are able to adjust to the
departure of her and her family.
I pray for rain in the mid-west. I pray the drought ends, and that hard
working farmers are able to sleep a little easier at night. The drought will impact all of us, but it
will especially hurt the blue-collar workers in America’s heartland. I pray relief comes quickly.
Michael
